    Delayed…

Hey everyone! I apologize for the delay in posting this, but we’re fast approaching the end of our time on VIC for the 2011-2012 year! I don’t know about you, but I thought it was an amazing time. SO, let’s go through some cool stuff!

    • 50 Hour went AMAZINGLY. Zach and Collin were fantastic and there was only one breakdown… Adam. And, to be fair, it was about the lack of breakdowns.
    • We raised over $3,000 for the Ithaca Health Alliance, making this the sixth most successful 50 Hour Marathon ever!
    • We had a really successful benefit concert and made some friends in Erik Caron Connection, Dirty Bird, Underwater Tiger and The Black Tie Affair. (Almost all of whom we interviewed!)
    • Our new executive staff was, briefly, in full swing! So things will be up and running come Fall!
    • This past weekend was our last weekend for specialty shows and they were all fantastic! Including the best new music show there’s ever been, if I do say so myself.
    • TONS of band want to get in touch with us, so next Fall is already looking like it’ll be off to a hot start!
    • This week is the last week of programmed VIC Radio and Senior Sign-Off will start at 4pm Friday!

Don’t be sad, though. This blog’ll still be up and running throughout the summer, so if you have fun indie music facts, want to read about some cool new jamz or just want to chat, come check it out alllllll summer!

New jams for ya: April 20

    thelittleindians:

    So here’s the deal:

If you know about Kyle’s and my musical background, you know that last April 20th was an internet shit show consisting of bummer announcements and some absurd drama.

We want this one to be a little cooler.

So…if you sign up for The Little Indians mailing list over at our site: www.thelittleindians.com - we’re going to email you and everyone else who’s signed up a new song on April 20th.  Don’t worry, we’ve been collecting emails since September and we haven’t sent out one email yet.  So I promise, if you sign up, you’ll only get emails that don’t suck.

Also worth noting (or not worth noting depending on how much you do or don’t care) is that we’re only releasing the tune on April 20th to those signed up for the mailing list … and then again when the record is finally finished.  So sign on up if you want a free new song.

    Cool?  Cool.

ps - our best buds (+former bandmates+fellow 4/20 wreckers of 2011) in The Return Fight are set to release their EP super soon (like next week)!

pps - I’m still performing with Hellogoodbye and will be for the foreseeable future.  So come out to a show, have some fun with us, and say hey!

Hey! Check out our artist of the week! You can get their jamz on bandcamp and you probably should! They’re pretty fab!

    RELAY FOR LIFE, etc.

I know I’ve ragged on and on and on about Relay For Life… sort of.

WELL, it happened! And it was grand! If you head on over to the VIC Radio facebook page, you can check out pictures of Gada Dave and Emmy J hosting all sorts of events for Relay for Life! Even more exciting than that, you can check out Gada Davhttp://www.tumblr.com/new/texte’s FANTASTIC hair! And make sure if you’re on campus and run into him that you mention it! ;D

    In OTHER news!

Fifty Hour’s coming! So is our FANTASTIC AND SURE TO BE WONDERFUL benefit concert! As I’m SURE you’re aware, and if you weren’t, pretend you were ‘cause you’re about to be, 50 Hour this year is benefiting the Ithaca Health Alliance, which works to help members of the Ithaca Community gain access to reliable health care. So, some time this week, VICers will be wandering around campus trying to sell you tickets to a show on April 21st at the Haunt. Here are some reasons you shouldn’t tell them to go away and you should shell out ten bucks to go:

    1. It’s only ten bucks to see THREE bands: Erik Caron Connection, Dirty Bird and Underwater Tiger
    2. You’re helping out a fantastic cause.
    3. It’s local, it’ll be a Saturday, what else are you going to do?
    4. Even if you have plans, these are better.
    5. Your favorite radio station is hosting this and putting it on.
    6. You’re not only going to support a local cause, but some cool beans local bands.
    7. Did I mention your favorite radio station is putting this together?
    8. It’s a night out with friends and it’s only ten dollars, again, only ten dollars, for three bands.
    9. You’ll have fun. And we’ll love you. It’s a win/win.

So, if you’re interested, even slightly, and you should be, check out the facebook event. Join it, share it, and then find yourself your friendly neighborhood VIC DJ and say, “HEY. I WANT A TICKET.” And, unless they demand a please and a thank you, you’ll be in business! If you don’t have a friendly neighborhood DJ, keep a look out for some of us tabling in Campus Center and you can get your ticket and more information about IHA and 50 Hour there!

I bet you thought I forgot about you…

    Well, I sort of did!

    BUT HAVE NO FEAR.

VIC Radio is OFFICIALLY back from Spring Break and has been since Monday morning!

AND, although we don’t have any new music for you this week (though I’m sure some of the regular VIC jamz are pretty new to you, which is why we’re so fly, fresh, fab, etc.), we have some other cool things coming up!

    • RELAY FOR LIFE: Relay for Life is a fantastic event put on by the American Cancer Society and, here at Ithaca, Colleges Against Cancer. This year, it’ll be held on March 31st in the Hill Center at 4pm and it’ll be hosted by none other than your friendly neighborhood internet radio station, VIC Radio! This twelve hour marathon, well, sort of kind of marathon, features fun events, tributes to those who have fought and won (or lost), or those who are currently fighting the battle with cancer, and a lot of enthusiastic and supportive people doing what they can to help find a cure. So, whether you’re on a Relay team or not, stop by anytime from 4pm to 4am on March 31st (into April 1st) to have some fun, hear some speakers or performers, some good old VIC tunes, or to see/participate in some contests. It may be a twelve hour event, but it’s going to be jam packed!
    • FIFTY HOUR MARATHON: You probably already know what THAT is. You don’t? Well, I can’t explain the WHOLE thing to you… Wait, yes I can. Fifty Hour is an annual VIC event when TWO of our lovely DJs stay awake for a grand total of 50 hours (as the title MAY have given away) and we try to raise money for a good cause! This year, our cause is the Ithaca Health Alliance, which helps to provide affordable healthcare for those in the Ithaca community who can’t afford it otherwise. Marathon is a little further away than Relay, but it’s another great event and you should be sure to a. tune in to VIC in late April to hear the sleep deprived ramblings of Zach and Collin and to help support the Ithaca Health Alliance!

In addition to listening to us REGULARLY, you should be checking out these great events that are coming up!

    Stay cool, kiddos!
